SENATOR FEENEY APPOINTED TO SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE BALLOT QUESTION JOINT COMMITTEE, 1 OF 3 DEMOCRATIC SENATE APPOINTEES
(Boston–2/2/2024) Senator Paul Feeney has been appointed to the new Special Joint Committee on Initiative Petitions. This committee, established by legislative order, is tasked with reviewing initiative petitions that could appear as 2024 ballot questions.
SENATE PASSES SEVERAL BILLS SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH AUTISM, LEGALIZING FENTANYL TEST STRIPS, AND REFORMING WHEELCHAIR WARRANTY
(Boston–1/17/2024) On January 4th, the Massachusetts Senate passed three separate pieces of legislation relating to strengthening consumer protections for wheelchair users, legalizing the sale, possession, and distribution of fentanyl test strips, and improving traffic stop communication between law enforcement and individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Senator Feeney was proud to vote in favor of all three bills.
SENATOR FEENEY NAMED RESOLVE NEW ENGLAND’S 2023 ADVOCACY CHAMPION AWARD
(Boston—11/20/23) On Sunday, Senator Feeney received the Resolve New England 2023 Advocacy Award at the 30th annual Resolve New England Family Building Conference. Senator Feeney has been awarded this recognition for embodying Resolve New England’s mission of creating a caring community for all people struggling with fertility and family building.
SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION ADDRESSING MASSACHUSETTS PAY INEQUITIES
(Boston–10/19/2023) Today, the Massachusetts Senate passed legislation to tackle pay inequities in the state, which significantly and disproportionately impact women and people of color across the Commonwealth. The bill targets these inequities by empowering employees with salary information, including when they are seeking jobs and receiving promotions, and by giving the state new data tools to track employment trends.
